Tales of MU will resume Friday

on September 24, 2014 in MU Blog

Hey, folks.

If you missed the comment I left on Monday’s story, Dorian, my feline companion of almost ten years died quite unexpectedly this weekend. My plan as announced in that comment was to not let this affect the updates this week, especially as my update record since instituting the new schedule has been so great.

However, there’s more than one way for the schedule to be affected, and when I look at Monday’s chapter, I know that it’s not actually everything I wanted it to be. It didn’t really get the full benefit of the normal final coat of polish. It reads more like a draft than the finished copy.

And when I look at what I would have to do in the final hours of today, I realize that I’m about to repeat that, and as important as the update record is to me, I’m more interested in consistent quality than consistent quantity A few weeks from now, someone reading through the archive for the first time is not likely to notice a gap of a few days, whereas a subpar quality will be noticeable to new readers and old.

So I thank you for your patience, support, and understanding, and look forward to seeing you all again on Friday.

Thank you.

<3 AE

I didn’t feel anything was wrong with Mondays chapter but you’re better at writing than I’ll ever be so I’ll take your word on it.

    Do what you need, AE.
You’re the artist. Ideally, you should be doing this for yourself, not us. That’s what makes the best art.

Yes. Most authors (who aren’t serial) are able to take weeks off, because they have deadlines that are months or years, rather than 3x a week. Just look at fucking GRRM for crying out loud.

You take your time, you heal, and you create from passion, AE. That is what matters. That is the reflection of you. That is what we love.

Having lost cats myself I know how hard it can hit you. Especially when you are not expecting it. Take the time you need.
I enjoyed Mondays chapter and I am sure I will enjoy the next one(s) too.
